My Gran has four kids... all of which have in-laws in a hundred-mile radius. Plus *thinks* probably about half of the grandkids (six or so) also have people within the area. It's great that everyone's in close proximity... except when it means everyone expects to see you.
With one family having to come early and be gone before the other family even got there... and yet another one talking about splitting Christmas and Thanksgiving between the houses...
Gran finally said enough's enough. Now we do both holidays the Saturday after the holiday. Let's people have their own family Christmas, do stuff with "the other side" (whoever that is for them), and spend a much more relaxed all day thing once we get to Gran's.
And... erm... yeah, it reallllly helps with the re-gifting.
